Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Penge

Man with Van Penge is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in an ethical and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. It applies to all employees, workers, contractors, and suppliers engaged by Man with Van Penge.

Our Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery

We have a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and exploitation. We do not accept any practice that compromises the dignity, freedom, or fundamental rights of any person. This commitment underpins our decisions about whom we work with, how we provide our services, and how we expect our partners to behave.

All staff and workers engaged by Man with Van Penge are expected to uphold this policy and act with integrity at all times. Any suspected breach of this policy will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and may result in disciplinary action or termination of contracts where appropriate.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man with Van Penge provides transport, removals, and related services to customers. While our operations are primarily UK-based and relatively small in scale, we recognise that the risk of modern slavery can exist in any business or supply chain. Our key suppliers include vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, and providers of uniforms and other workwear.

We are committed to understanding these supply chains and working only with organisations that can demonstrate respect for human rights and compliance with applicable labour laws.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect all suppliers, contractors, and business partners to share our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery. As part of our supplier due diligence, we seek assurances that suppliers:

Comply with all relevant employment, labour, and human rights legislation; Prohibit forced, bonded, or involuntary labour; Do not employ workers below the legal minimum age; Provide fair working conditions, including appropriate pay and working hours; Maintain transparent records relating to their workforce.

Where appropriate, we may carry out supplier audits or request evidence of policies and practices to ensure that suppliers meet these standards. If a supplier is unable or unwilling to demonstrate compliance, we may review, suspend, or terminate the business relationship.

Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities

Responsibility for implementing this Modern Slavery Statement rests with the leadership of Man with Van Penge, supported by managers and supervisors across the business. Those involved in recruiting workers or selecting suppliers are made aware of the risks of modern slavery and the requirements of this policy.

We aim to increase awareness among staff so they can recognise the signs of exploitation, understand the importance of ethical conduct, and know how to raise any concerns they may encounter in the course of their work.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels

Man with Van Penge encourages all employees, workers, suppliers, and customers to report any concerns related to modern slavery or human rights abuses. Concerns may include suspected exploitation of workers, coercion, unsafe or degrading working conditions, or any other practice that may amount to modern slavery.

Individuals are encouraged to raise concerns directly with management or via existing internal reporting channels. Reports can be made in confidence, and we will treat all concerns seriously and sensitively. No one who raises a concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment.

Where appropriate, we will cooperate with relevant authorities and external agencies in investigating and resolving reported concerns.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process. Man with Van Penge is committed to continually improving its policies, procedures, and due diligence activities to mitigate the risk of modern slavery in its business and supply chains.

This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every year to ensure it remains effective and up to date. The review will consider changes in our operations, feedback from stakeholders, developments in best practice, and any incidents or concerns reported during the year. Where necessary, we will update our processes and communication to strengthen our approach.

This statement has been approved by the leadership of Man with Van Penge and reflects our commitment to operating responsibly, ethically, and with respect for the rights and wellbeing of all individuals connected to our services.
